Protester who threw Russian flags at the rich asshole arrested
BY AVERY ANAPOL - 10/24/17 03:15 PM EDT
The protester who threw Russian flags at President the rich asshole in the Capitol on Tuesday has been arrested.
A statement from Capitol Police identifies the protester as 36-year-old Ryan Clayton of Sterling, Va., and says that he has been preliminarily charged with unlawful conduct.
Police arrested Clayton after they say he threw Russian flags at the rich asshole as the president entered a lunch with GOP senators. He could be heard shouting "the rich asshole is treason."
Clayton identified himself as a member of “Americans Take Action." He is reportedly the same man who asked Jared Kushner to sign a Russian flag, and who got attendees at the Conservative Political Action Conference to wave Russian flags during the rich asshole’s speech, according to ABC News.
The protest came amid multiple investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. the rich asshole has previously called the Russia probe a "witch hunt."
The president was meeting with Republican senators on Capitol Hill in an effort to promote party unity.

Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) announced on Tuesday that he will not seek re-election at the end of his term, said USA Today.

the rich asshole attacks Corker hours before he heads to Hill for GOP unity effort
The president claims his latest sparring partner 'couldn't get elected dog catcher in Tennessee.'
President some rich asshole accused Sen. Bob Corker on Tuesday of working against Republican efforts to pass major tax reform legislation, escalating the feud between the two men hours before the president heads to Capitol Hill in an effort to project unity on taxes and health care.
“Bob Corker, who helped President O give us the bad Iran Deal & couldn't get elected dog catcher in Tennessee, is now fighting Tax Cuts,” the rich asshole wrote on Twitter Tuesday morning. “Corker dropped out of the race in Tennesse [sic] when I refused to endorse him, and now is only negative on anything the rich asshole. Look at his record!”
Corker quickly fired back on Twitter, lamenting the "same untruths from an utterly untruthful president. #AlertTheDaycareStaff." the rich asshole’s claim that Corker opted to leave the Senate only after the president refused to endorse him has been repeatedly disputed by the Tennessee Republican’s office. In fact, it was the rich asshole, Corker’s office has said, who asked the senator to reconsider his retirement.
the rich asshole, too, continued the back-and-forth, asking his followers later Tuesday morning, "isn't it sad that lightweight Senator Bob Corker, who couldn't get re-elected in the Great State of Tennessee, will now fight Tax Cuts plus!"
the rich asshole’s tweets followed a string of appearances by Corker (R-Tenn.) on the three major broadcast morning news shows during which he needled the president, appearing to lure him into a fresh sparring match.
On NBC’s “Today,” Corker called on the White House to “step aside” on tax reform and allow Congress to take the lead in crafting the legislation. The Tennessee Republican, who will not seek reelection in 2018, also called the rich asshole’s scheduled lunch with Republican senators on Tuesday little more than a “photo op."
Speaking more broadly about the president in an interview on "CBS This Morning," Corker told anchor Charlie Rose that "it appears to be the governing model of this White House to purposefully divide." the rich asshole's response to a deadly white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, that there had been "very fine people on both sides," was evidence that the president and his team are interested in consolidating their base of support, not in trying to "bring out the better angels of those people in our country."
"I’ve gotten to know the president in a very unique way over the course of the last year. And I guess, like all Americans, I would have hoped he would rise to the occasion and bring out the best in our nation," Corker said. "That has not happened and I’m beginning to believe it’s not going to happen."
Corker then notched up his rhetoric even further during an interview on CNN, saying the rich asshole will most be remembered for "the debasement of our nation."
"At the end of the day, when his term is over, I think the debasing of our nation, the constant non-truth telling, just the name calling, the things — I think the debasement of our nation will be what he'll be remembered most for, and that's regretful," Corker said. Asked if he regretting supporting the rich asshole during last year's election, Corker said, "Let's just put it this way: I would not do that again."
The relationship between the two men, which had already been on rocky footing, soured further this month as Corker and the rich asshole have lobbed increasingly barbed criticisms at one another through the media. Amid a separate reported spat between the rich asshole and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in early October, Corker came to the defense of the secretary, telling reporters that Tillerson and other top advisers "help separate the country from chaos."
the rich asshole replied with a Twitter barrage, launching his claim that the senator had opted to retire only once a presidential endorsement had been taken off the table. the rich asshole also said he had rejected Corker as a possible secretary of state and said the senator was "largely responsible for the horrendous Iran Deal!” Corker was quick with a sarcastic retort, writing that "it's a shame the White House has become an adult day care center. Someone obviously missed their shift this morning."
The senator also delivered a scathing review of the rich asshole in an interview with The New York Times, telling the newspaper that the president has behaved “like he’s doing ‘The Apprentice’ or something" and that he could put the U.S. "on the path to World War III."
The president's ongoing feud with Corker is just one of several currently simmering between the rich asshole and prominent GOP lawmakers. In the nine months since his inauguration, the rich asshole has sparred with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaksa), Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Dean Heller (R-Nev.). Some of those fights have been smoothed over and some have seemingly faded only to flare up later.
Corker said on Tuesday morning that he tried being a helpful force to the rich asshole — with little to show for it.
"Many of us, me included, have, you know, tried to, you know — I've intervened, I have had private dinner, you know, been with him on multiple occasions to try to create some kind of aspirational approach, if you will, to the way that he conducts himself, but I don't think that that's possible," Corker said. "He's obviously not going to rise to the occasion as president."

Fox News doesn't think Americans should be asking about how four U.S. soldiers died in Niger.
Fox News
Fox News, some rich asshole’s quasi-official propaganda outlet, wants Americans to stop asking questions about the botched mission the rich asshole authorized that led to the murder of four American soldiers.
The doomed raid in Niger has been at the top of minds across the country, especially after the rich asshole decided to attack the widow of Army Sgt. La David Johnson, Myeshia Johnson. The country is demanding to know why the soldiers were in Niger, and why they lacked the support they needed in the field.
But Fox News wants everybody to shut up about it, because it makes the rich asshole look bad.
On “Fox & Friends,” the rich asshole’s favorite show on the sycophantic network, co-host Brian Kilmeade grumbledthat “it seems like people looking for some type of scandal” in the Niger tragedy. He was incredulous that Americans are asking about the far-flung deployment of troops into harm’s way, asking, “I need to know how many troops are in West Africa? Really?”
KILMEADE: You have an incident happen. People want to get to the bottom of it and you have the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff come forward and say this is what we know so far, we’ll give you the latest. And of course, the family members need to know details as soon as we get it. And now I’m just curious why the American people need to know how many people are doing what in West Africa? It seems like now — it seems like people looking for some type of scandal. I need to know how many troops are in West Africa? Really? Just know that Al Qaeda, al-Shabaab, ISIS are fanning out there and they’re doing it not for fun but in order to train others to stop terrorists from eventually coming over here.
the rich asshole ordered the military in, even though the armed forces knew their support capability in the region was limited. Men died when carrying out orders made directly or authorized by the rich asshole, and the administration is not being forthcoming about what happened. Even their fellow Republicans have said so.
So, to answer Kilmeade, there is an air of scandal around what happened, and while it goes against the false narrative Fox has been peddling of competent leadership, America needs to know the truth.
The directive from Fox is in line with the the rich asshole. Despite going on and on about everything else in the world, he is tight-lipped on the Niger 4 and ran away from reporters when they asked him about it.
The argument is also unsurprisingly hypocritical for Fox, which turned its airwaves into Benghazi central for years. While independent probes showed that the failures in security at the U.S. consulate were not the result of deliberate action by President Barack Obama and Secretary Hillary Clinton, that didn’t stop Fox from hyping the story constantly.
Yet now that there are real questions about the rich asshole and his role in the deaths of four Americans, the Republican Party’s in-house propaganda outlet wants everyone to shut up about it.
That is unlikely to happen.
the rich asshole, Corker feud reignites hours before critical meeting
BY JORDAN FABIAN - 10/24/17 09:55 AM EDT
The feud between President the rich asshole and Sen. Bob Corkerreignited on Tuesday ahead of the president’s high-stakes meeting with Senate Republicans on taxes.
The fight began when Corker offered a litany of criticisms directed toward the rich asshole in a morning interview on NBC's "Today." The two then battled over Twitter, with the rich asshole accusing the Tennessee Republican of trying to stymie his agenda after Corker said the rich asshole should stay out of the tax-overhaul effort on Capitol Hill.
In an interview with CNN in a Senate hallway shortly after the tweets, Corker escalated his criticism, calling the rich asshole a serial liar, saying he regretted supporting him for president, accusing him of debasing the country and refusing to say whether he trusted the rich asshole with the U.S. nuclear codes.
"Unfortunately I think world leaders are very aware that much of what he says are untrue," he told CNN's Manu Raju. "I don't know why he lowers himself to such a low standard. It debases our country."
Asked if he regrets supporting the rich asshole's 2016 campaign, Corker responded, "Let's just say this: I would not do it again," smiling and grabbing Raju's shoulder.
Corker responded with a quick "no" to a question about whether he considered the rich asshole to be a good role model for children.
Corker also denied that the rich asshole refused to support his reelection bid. He said the rich asshole asked him at least four times to reconsider his decision not to run.
"The president has great difficulty with the truth," he said.
the rich asshole in several tweets responding to Corker's earlier comments on NBC repeated his claim that Corker decided not to run for reelection after the rich asshole refused to endorse him “and now is only negative on anything the rich asshole. Look at his record!”
“Isn't it sad that lightweight Senator Bob Corker, who couldn't get re-elected in the Great State of Tennessee, will now fight Tax Cuts plus!” he tweeted.
the rich asshole added that the “incompetent” Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman “helped President [Obama] give us the bad Iran Deal & couldn't get elected dog catcher in Tennessee.”
The president also blamed the senator for what he said was the U.S.’s diminished standing in the world before he took office.
“The entire World WAS laughing and taking advantage of us,” the rich asshole tweeted. “People like liddle' Bob Corker have set the U.S. way back. Now we move forward!”
In the "Today" interview, Corker said the rich asshole’s involvement in Congress’s effort to change the tax code will make it harder to pass a bill.
“Tax writing committees in the Senate and the House are going to be laying out the $4 trillion in loophole closings that need to take place,” Corker told NBC. “Hopefully the White House will step aside and let that occur in a normal process.”
The blow-up happened just hours before the rich asshole was scheduled to attend the Senate GOP’s weekly luncheon on Capitol Hill, an event Corker described as a “photo op.”
Corker said it’s “fine” if the president wants to attend the lunch but said he should generally give lawmakers space to craft tax legislation.
“I think that that's the best way for us to have a success,” he said.
The incident highlighted how the rich asshole’s tense relationship with influential Republican lawmakers could complicate his effort to score a win on taxes.
Corker sits on the Senate Budget Committee and is a key vote on tax legislation. the rich asshole and Senate GOP leaders can only afford to lose two votes on a tax overhaul and still pass it.
The Tennessee senator has said he will not support a plan that blows a major hole in the budget deficit. But his deteriorating personal relationship with the rich asshole could also factor into his decision.
Corker has been withering in his criticism of the rich asshole since announcing his plan to retire, which has freed him of having to win support from the rich asshole's base for a reelection bid.
Earlier this month, he referred to the White House as an “adult day care center” and has expressed concern that the rich asshole could lead the U.S. into “World War III.”
“When you have the kind of issue we’re dealing with in North Korea ... when you kneecap that effort, you really move our country into a binary choice which could lead to a world war,” Corker said of the rich asshole on NBC.
“I want him to support diplomatic efforts, not to embarrass and really malign efforts that are underway to try to get some kind of diplomatic solution here, and I think most people would agree with that,” he added.

the rich asshole wanted to rename America’s biggest mountain
Josh Saul
Posted with permission from Newsweek
President Donald Trump brought up a campaign promise during a March meeting with the U.S. senators from Alaska, asking whether he could roll back President Barack Obama’s 2015 decision to rename the tallest mountain on the continent, spokespeople for the senators confirmed to Newsweek on Monday.
Senators Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan were meeting with Trump and Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke in the Oval Office to talk about issues affecting Alaska, including the economy, the military and Arctic drilling. The senators brought up some Obama decisions they said hurt the state, and Trump asked Zinke after each one: “Can we change that and help Alaska?” The Alaska Dispatch News first reported the exchange after Sullivan mentioned it at a conference.
The president then raised another of Obama's Alaska decisions. “Wasn't the name of a big mountain in Alaska changed by executive order?” Trump asked, according to the newspaper. (Obama announced in 2015 the federal government was changing the name of Mount McKinley to Denali, the Native Alaska name for the peak.)
The president brought up the idea of changing the name back to Mount McKinley, named for a U.S. president who never visited the 49th state, and the senators quickly argued against it. "Lisa—Senator Murkowski—and I jumped over the desk. We said, 'No, no!'" said Sullivan, who was speaking at the Alaska Federation of Natives convention in Anchorage, the newspaper reported.
When the president asked, “Why?” Sullivan answered, “The Alaska Native people named that mountain over 10,000 years ago.… Denali, that was the name,” according to the newspaper.
Sullivan spokeswoman Karina Petersen and Murkowski spokesman Mike Anderson confirmed to Newsweek that Trump asked whether he should reverse the Obama administration decision to rename the mountain during the March 8 meeting.
While visiting Alaska in 2015, Obama announced his administration was scrapping the McKinley name and restoring the Athabascan name of Denali to the more than 20,000-foot mountain. “This designation recognizes the sacred status of Denali to generations of Alaska Natives,” his office said in a statement announcing the change.
Trump, then just two months into his presidential campaign, reacted strongly. “President Obama wants to change the name of Mount McKinley to Denali after more than 100 years. Great insult to Ohio. I will change back!” he said in a tweet, referring to President William McKinley’s home state.
Alaskans slammed Trump’s tweets. “We wanted that change for a long time, and now we finally have it, and we need to leave it alone,” Victor Joseph, president of Tanana Chiefs Conference, a consortium of 42 Athabascan tribes in Interior Alaska, told the Associated Press last year. “It was an insult to the first people of this land when they took away the name and gave it to somebody else.”
Trump critics have argued the president is obsessed with Obama. CNN anchor Don Lemon raised the issue on air earlier this month, stating the Republican was “making it his mission to undo every last bit of the Obama legacy,” while political analyst David Gergen replied that recent Trump decision were “more about blowing up the former president’s legacy than anybody wants to admit.”

the rich asshole disputes Gold Star widow's account of phone call
BY MALLORY SHELBOURNE - 10/23/17 08:46 AM EDT
President the rich asshole early Monday disputed the account of his phone call with a Gold Star widow, who provided a description of the call earlier that morning in an interview.
“I had a very respectful conversation with the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson, and spoke his name from beginning, without hesitation!” the rich asshole wrote on Twitter, referencing one of the Green Berets killed earlier this month in an ambush in Niger.

“What he said was — yes the president — said that he knew what he signed up for, but it hurts anyways. And I was — it made me cry because I was very angry at the tone of his voice and how he said it. He couldn’t remember my husband’s name,” Johnson told host George Stephanopoulos.
the rich asshole denied Wilson’s description of the call last week, but Johnson on Monday said the congresswoman’s account “was not fabricated.”

the rich asshole disputes military widow's account of condolence call
Updated 9:48 AM ET, Mon October 23, 2017
Washington (CNN)President some rich asshole on Monday disputed a widow's account of a condolence call he made to her following the death of her husband in Niger earlier this month.
the rich asshole tweeted shortly after Myeshia Johnson, the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson, discussed her disappointment with the call on "Good Morning America" Monday morning, saying the President stumbled on her husband's name and suggesting the only reason he knew it was because the report was right in front of him.
"I had a very respectful conversation with the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson, and spoke his name from beginning, without hesitation!" the rich asshole tweeted.
Johnson said she was distraught over the rich asshole's alleged oversights during the call, which came as the Johnson family and Rep. Frederica Wilson, D-Florida, who is a friend of the family, rode in a limo to receive Johnson's body from Dover Air Force Base.
"(The call) made me cry because I was very angry at the tone of his voice," she said.
When host George Stephanopoulos asked if she had anything to say to the President, Johnson was direct.
"No. I don't have nothing to say to him," she said.
There are currently no plans for the administration to reach out to Sgt. Johnson's family again, a White House official said. The White House offered no additional comment.
Wilson and the rich asshole have traded barbs for nearly a week on the controversy stemming from the President's condolence call to Johnson.
Wilson claimed that the President said Johnson "knew what he signed up for, but I guess it still hurt." The family member who raised Johnson has called Wilson's account of the call "very accurate" and the White House has not refuted that the rich asshole spoke those words.
Myeshia Johnson told "Good Morning America" Wilson's account of the call was "100% correct."
Johnson's GMA appearance comes during a swirling political debate over the circumstances of the death of her husband and three other US soldiers in Niger.
Sgt. Johnson was found nearly a mile away from the central scene of the ambush in Niger, four administration officials familiar with the early assessment of what happened told CNN on Friday. The Pentagon is still looking at the exact circumstances of how and when Johnson became separated from the 12-member team as they were ambushed by 50 ISIS fighters. The FBI is assisting in the investigation of the ambush.
Johnson, who is expecting a daughter this January, said she's still waiting for answers regarding the circumstances of her husband's death.
"The questions that I have that I need answered is I want to know why it took them 48 hours to find my husband," she told Stephanopoulos. "Why couldn't I see my husband? Every time I asked to see my husband, they wouldn't let me."
She says she's gotten no answers from the government about how or where her husband died and says they refused to let her view his body.
"They won't show me a finger, a hand. ... I don't know what's in that box," she said.
She added, "They won't tell me. They won't tell me anything. I don't know anything."
When Stephanopoulos asked if she believed she would get the answers to questions surrounding her husband's death, Johnson said: "If I keep pushing for them, I will."

Myeshia Johnson gave her first TV interview this morning to George Stephanopoulos, saying what hurt her most when the rich asshole called her is that could not remember her husband’s name, and stumbled over it when he finally referenced it on the file in front of him.
La David Johnson was one of four soldiers killed in an ISIS ambush in Niger earlier this month. the rich asshole called his widow, and family members of the other three soldiers, after being asked at a Rose Garden presser why he had yet to make any mention of the attack, nearly two weeks after it occurred. He responded, saying he intended to call the families, which is something, the rich asshole said incorrectly, previous presidents did not do.
“I had a very respectful conversation with the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson, and spoke his name from the beginning, without hesitation!” the rich asshole tweeted this morning after Johnson’s GMA interview.
The storm over the rich asshole’s call to the widow erupted when Democratic Congresswoman Frederica Wilson blasted the rich asshole for telling Myeshia “I’m sure he knew what he signed up for but, when it happens, it hurts anyway.” Wilson was in the vehicle with Johnson’s pregnant wife, en route to the airport to receive her husband’s body, when the call came.
the rich asshole had punched back then too, tweeting Wilson had “fabricated” her claim, adding, “I have proof.” White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said there was no recording of the conversation, but called it “a disgrace for the media to try to portray an act of kindness like that, and that gesture, and try to make it into something it isn’t.”
Myeshia Johnson this morning confirmed the rich asshole said on the call, “that he knew what he signed up for, but it hurts anyway.”
“It made me cry, because I was very angry at the tone of his voice, and how he said it. He couldn’t remember my husband’s name… He told me had my husband’s report on front of him. That’s when he actually said ‘La David’. I heard him stumbling trying to remember my husband’s name. That is what hurt me the most. If my husband is fighting for our country and he risks his life for our country, why can’t you remember his name? And that was what made me upset and cry even more. Because my husband was an awesome soldier…My husband had high hopes in his military career.”
Florida Rep. Frederica Wilson was in the vehicle because of her long connection to the family, Johnson said.
“Whatever Miss Wilson said was not fabricated,” Johnson said. What she said was 100% correct.”
Asked if she has anything to President some rich asshole about their phone call, she responded, “No. I don’t have nothing to say to him.”
In addition to being upset by her phone call with the rich asshole, Johnson is angry she was not allowed to see her husband’s body when it was returned to this country.
“Every time I asked, they would not let me see him,” she told GMA’s George Stephanopoulos. “They were telling me he is in severe wrap, like I won’t be able to see him. I need to know that is my husband. I don’t know nothing; they won’t show me a finger, a hand….They won’t let me. I don’t know what’s in that box. It could b empty, for all I know. I haven’t seen him since he came home.”
Some rich asshole pledges ‘NO change to your 401(k)’ in his tax cut plan
President Some rich asshole vowed on Monday that his tax cut plan would not include any changes to tax-deferred retirement accounts such as 401(k)s, following reports last week that House Republicans were weighing a sharp reduction in the amount of income American workers could save through such programs.
Some rich asshole tweeted Monday morning: “There will be NO change to your 401(k). This has always been a great and popular middle class tax break that works, and it stays!”
There will be NO change to your 401(k). This has always been a great and popular middle class tax break that works, and it stays!
Several news organizations reported last week that congressional Republicans were considering a cap on contributions to 401(k) programs as part of a broad overhaul of the tax code.
Such tax-deferred accounts are a popular way that many Americans, especially middle-class workers, save for their retirement. Any proposed limits or restrictions could have drawn a sharp backlash, including in the asset management industry.
Some rich asshole's tweet comes as the White House steps up its campaign for tax reform this week. The president wrote an op-ed in USA Today under the headline, “With tax reform we can make it morning in America again,” a play on former president Ronald Reagan's campaign slogan.
Meanwhile, Ivanka Some rich asshole, one of the president's daughters and a senior White House adviser, will travel to suburban Philadelphia on Monday to hold a town hall meeting about tax reform.
Gold Star widow Myeshia Johnson has ‘nothing to say’ to Some rich asshole after controversial condolence call
Nineteen days after her husband’s death and two days after his wrenching burial, the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson said she has “nothing to say” to President Some rich asshole, whose condolence call pulled the grieving widow into the center of a national controversy.
“Very upset and hurt; it made me cry even worse,” Myeshia Johnson told “Good Morning America” about her conversation with the president.
Making her first public comments since she took the call from Some rich asshole last week — on the same day her husband’s remains were flown back to the United States — Johnson recalled that the president said her husband “knew what he signed up for, but it hurts anyways. And it made me cry. I was very angry at the tone of his voice, and how he said it.”
She added: “I didn’t say anything. I just listened.”
Some rich asshole on Monday disputed Johnson’s account, characterizing his conversation with her as “very respectful.”
"[I was] very upset and hurt. It made me cry even worse." - Myeshia Johnson, widow of Sgt. La David Johnson to @GStephanopoulos
Sgt. Johnson was killed in action in West Africa on Oct. 4, one of four U.S. soldiers who died in Niger when Islamic State militants attacked them.
His body was flown back to the United States on Tuesday. Soon after, his name became entangled in a controversy after Some rich asshole was accused of making insensitive remarks to the 25-year-old soldier’s widow.
Rep. Frederica S. Wilson (D-Fla.) said Some rich asshole told Myeshia Johnson on the phone that her husband “must have known what he signed up for,” an account later corroborated by Johnson’s aunt and custodial mother, Cowanda Jones-Johnson.
Some rich asshole vehemently denied Wilson’s account, stating without evidence that he had proof it was “totally fabricated.” But White House Chief of Staff John F. Kelly later appeared to confirm Wilson’s account. Myeshia Johnson said Monday that Wilson’s version of events was “100 percent correct.”
Johnson said several people — including her aunt and uncle, an Army official, and Wilson — heard the conversation because Some rich asshole was placed on speaker phone.
“Why would we fabricate something like that?” she said.
Photos from Saturday’s funeral in Hollywood, Fla., showed relatives sobbing and members of Johnson’s battalion, the “Bush Hog” formation, breaking down in tears.
Just before her husband was buried, Myeshia Johnson kissed his casket.
But in her interview Monday with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, she said she’s not fully convinced her husband’s remains are inside.
“Why couldn’t I see my husband? Every time I asked to see my husband, they wouldn’t let me,” she said. “They won’t show me a finger, a hand. I know my husband’s body from head to toe. They won’t show me anything.
“I don’t know what’s in that box. It could be empty for all I know.”
As questions continue to swirl around the circumstances of La David Johnson’s death, Myeshia Johnson said she has some of her own “that I need answered.”
Chief among them, she said: “I want to know why it took them 48 hours to find my husband . . . When they came to my house, they just told me it was a massive gunfire and that my husband, as of Oct. 4, was missing. They didn’t know his whereabouts.”
Then, she said, “he went from missing to killed in action . . . I don’t know how he got killed, where he got killed or anything.”
Johnson was a mechanic attached to a 3rd Special Forces Group team that was partnered with Nigerien forces. They unexpectedly came under attack during a morning operation that also killed Staff Sgt. Bryan C. Black, 35; Staff Sgt. Jeremiah W. Johnson, 39; and Staff Sgt. Dustin M. Wright, 29.
The deadly operation is now under U.S. military investigation.
To those who knew him, Johnson was a loving husband who had his wife’s name tattooed across his chest; a soldier who pushed to improve himself; a son who enjoyed talking about his family.
He was also a father who was looking forward to seeing his baby girl: Myeshia is six months pregnant. The couple also have a 2-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter.
“He was very excited. He said, ‘Sergeant B, I’m having a girl!’ ” Staff Sgt. Dennis Bohler, Johnson’s close friend, told The Post last week.
The slain soldier’s daughter is expected to be born in January.
“I want to tell her how awesome her dad was and how a great father he was and how he died as a hero,” Myeshia Johnson said when asked what she’ll tell her daughter.
Johnson said Some rich asshole’s remarks during the call were not the most upsetting part for her. She said she cried harder after she heard the president stumble trying to remember her husband’s name.
“If my husband is out here fighting for our country and he risked his life for our country, why can’t you remember his name?” she said.
I had a very respectful conversation with the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson, and spoke his name from beginning, without hesitation!
Not long after the interview aired, Some rich asshole went on Twitter to dispute that part of Johnson’s account.
the rich asshole SCREAMS On Twitter After Seeing A Poll On Fox News
Rex Tillerson was right. some rich asshole is a f*cking moron.
After years of slamming polls as “fake,” the rich asshole had the nerve to tout a poll on Sunday morning after Fox & Friends reported on it.
The POLITICO/Morning Consult poll results show that 46 percent of respondents think the media fabricates stories about the rich asshole.
So, of course, the poll sent the rich asshole to Twitter so he could literally scream about it and claim that his constant labeling of news outlets as “fake news” are “sinking through”
Let’s all keep in mind that this is ONE poll. Furthermore, the results were largely split down partisan lines, with 76 percent of Republicans believing that the news media make up stories about the rich asshole. That number rises to 85 percent among the rich asshole’s most ardent supporters.
If this poll had the opposite results, the rich asshole would be dismissing it as a fake. And we all know it.
the rich asshole only thinks news stories and polls are accurate when they kiss his ass. That’s why Fox & Friends is watched by the rich asshole on a daily basis. They not only kiss his ass, they practically give him a blow-job every morning.
Back in July, a PPP poll showed that a majority of Americans trust the news media more than they trust the rich asshole.
Over 50 percent of Americans said they trust NBC, CNN, ABC, the New York Times, and The Washington Post more than they trust the rich asshole. The percentage of people who said they trust the rich asshole more only hovered in the mid-30s.
You know what else currently stands in the mid-30s? the rich asshole’s approval rating. The latest Gallup poll shows that only 35 percent of Americans approve of the rich asshole’s job performance. The Politico poll has it at 44 percent, so you can probably guess which poll the rich asshole will call “fake.”
the rich asshole: Dem lawmaker the 'gift that keeps on giving' for GOP
BY REBECCA SAVRANSKY - 10/22/17 08:14 AM EDT
President the rich asshole on Sunday ripped Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.), extending his feud with the Florida Democrat over his call to the widow of a fallen U.S. soldier.
"Wacky Congresswoman Wilson is the gift that keeps on giving for the Republican Party, a disaster for Dems," the rich asshole tweeted.
"You watch her in action & vote R!"
Wacky Congresswoman Wilson is the gift that keeps on giving for the Republican Party, a disaster for Dems. You watch her in action & vote R!
the rich asshole also referred to Wilson as "wacky" in a tweet on Saturday. He said he hopes the "Fake News Media" keeps talking abut Wilson, who he claimed is "killing the Democratic Party."
the rich asshole's comments come after Wilson last week described a phone call between the rich asshole and the widow of Army Sgt. La David Johnson, who was killed in Niger.
Wilson said she was in the car with the fallen soldier's family when the rich asshole called. She said the rich asshole told the soldier's widow that he "knew what he signed up for ... but when it happens it hurts anyway."
the rich asshole has since pushed back against Wilson's claims. On Thursday, the rich asshole accused Wilson of lying about the content of the call after "secretly" listening in.
White House chief of staff John Kelly last week also gave an emotional press conference in which he said he was "stunned" by Wilson's negative description of the call.
"I would have thought that was sacred," Kelly said.
the rich asshole spurred controversy during a press conference last Monday when he claimed former President Obama and other past presidents didn't call the families of fallen soldiers. Former aides to Obama have strongly pushed back against the claim.
Several recent reports have said the rich asshole has not called all of the families of soldiers who have died since he assumed office.
the rich asshole and Kelly have a problem with women of color who don’t know their place
DON'T MISS STORIES. FOLLOW RAW STORY!
Racism is the rich asshole administration’s magic wand, a device it uses, to great effect, to dazzle its base, whose own proud bigotry dispenses with the need for suspension of disbelief. In the face of controversies and criticism, the rich asshole race-baits not just for cynical political reasons—though that’s part of it—but because he, too, is deeply racist, so much that his presidency is basically a live-action revenge fantasy against the country’s first black president.
Florida Congresswoman Frederica Wilson is the most recent target of the noxious output produced when the rich asshole’s racism meets his unvarnished misogyny, revealing the particular contempt he holds for women of color, especially those powerful and uppity enough to publicly call him on his many failures. And if there was any question about whether Chief of Staff John Kelly endorses the rich asshole’s targeting of women of color, recent events show this an all-hands-on-deck team effort.
Like the rich asshole, Kelly’s zeal for demeaning and insulting black women cannot be derailed by the actual truth. On Tuesday, Rep. Wilson told press that while speaking with the grieving pregnant widow of Army Sgt. La David Johnson, the rich asshole—who only bothered to make the call after a reporter questioned his 12-day delay in doing so—dismissively stated her husband “knew what he signed up for, but I guess [his death] still hurt.” the rich asshole denied making the remark, as did his press secretary, but Kelly affirmed Wilson’s story during a damage control-focused press conference Thursday. That conflict was just one of several issues with the integrity of Kelly’s speech.
The chief of staff said he was stunned Wilson had listened in on the call, though she is a longtime friend of the Johnson family whose presence was requested, and Kelly himself had also been listening to the exchange. He claimed he longed for the days of his childhood, when women and Gold Star families were “sacred,” despite his high-visibility job working for a man who brags about sexual assault and insults the parents of dead soldiers. Kelly also took special pains to degrade and humiliate Rep. Wilson using a fake news story about her behavior at a 2015 dedication of a FBI Miami field office.
“[A] congresswoman stood up, and in the long tradition of empty barrels making the most noise, stood up there and all of that and talked about how she was instrumental in getting the funding for that building, and how she took care of her constituents because she got the money, and she just called up President Obama, and on that phone call he gave the money, the $20 million, to build the building. And she sat down, and we were stunned. Stunned that she had done it. Even for someone that is that empty a barrel, we were stunned. But you know, none of us went to the press and criticized. None of us stood up and were appalled. We just said, OK, fine.”
Backed by a Miami Herald report and footage from the event, Wilson revealed the numerous falsehoods in Kelly’s retelling. The money for the building was secured before she was serving in Congress, and nowhere in her speech did she take credit for raising the funds. Instead, she highlighted her role in both sponsoring and expediting passage of a bill to name the building after two FBI agents who had been killed just four days before the event. “Rep. Wilson truly did the impossible, and we are eternally grateful,” former FBI head James Comey said in his remarks, according to Florida’s Sun Sentinel.
Let’s be clear here: Kelly didn’t misspeak or misremember Wilson’s words. He intentionally told a story meant to play on the stereotype of a money-grubbing black woman—like Ronald Reagan’s fabricated welfare queen—who is loud, wrong, unqualified and unfit to hold a prominent position, and always looking to get over on someone else’s dime. (The phony scene is also an implicit knock against Obama, who was often accused by white racists of giving copious handouts to black folks.) It’s not incidental that Kelly referred to Wilson as an “empty barrel,” a vessel whose only use is making “the most noise,” suggesting he holds her in such low regard he refuses to utter her name. Kelly deployed that racist misogynoir caricature not just against Wilson, but by extension, the family of a soldier whose sacrifice this administration pretends to value.
Spreading that racist image meant so much to Kelly, a Gold Star parent who knows the pain of losing a child, he went to the trouble of assembling a room of press to trash Wilson in the hope his lies would trounce the truth. What’s more, he couched the attack in soaring, laudatory words about god, country and young lives lost on battlefields, knowing his Gold Star status would add emotional heft to those words. This, we’re supposed to believe, is what the the rich asshole administration considers “respecting our troops.” If the dictionary is lacking a definition for the words “politicization” or “opportunism,” a freeze-frame of Kelly mid-speech should fill the space.
Other racist talking heads followed Kelly’s lead. Tomi Lahren posted side by side photos of Wilson and Congresswoman Maxine Waters, accusing the former of “anti-the rich asshole tantrums” and the latter of being “crazy.” Former Sheriff David Clarke, the gigantic hat wearing black Republican who probably has “One of the good ones” tattooed somewhere on his body, labeled Wilson a “buffoon” for her slightly smaller hat. Alex Pfeiffer, who writes for Tucker Carlson’s white nationalist-favored outlet the Daily Caller, tweeted that he’s “seen Frederica Wilson in Miami airport multiple times,” always “driven on a golf cart” by Miami police. “That’s the type of person she is,” Pfeiffer wrote, which is a long-winded way of calling a 75-year-old woman lazy, blackness being her preexisting condition. I scoured Pfeiffer’s tweets to find the one where he criticizes the rich asshole for lazily driving his golf cart across the greens, but couldn’t find it for some reason. (Just kidding. I know the reason.)
the rich asshole and his team try to shut down white women and men of color as well—see the rich asshole’s rich history of woman-hating or his unhinged tweets toward outspoken black athletes—but Wilson is the recipient of a level vitriol they save for women of color. In recent weeks, the rich asshole has launched attacks against ESPN anchor Jemele Hill for stating facts about his deeply held white supremacism, and fired upon San Juan mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz for pointing out his cruelty and ineptitude toward the Puerto Rican people. This White House’s agenda is specifically designed to cause harm toward all Americans who are not white, male, heterosexual, cisgender or Christian. But it has an intolerance for black and other women of color that is unmatched, and in many ways, not even concealed.
“The sad part about it is, he didn’t know La David’s name,” Wilson told Politico, revisiting the insult that was the rich asshole’s condolence call. “He kept calling him ‘your guy.’ Your guy did this. Your guy did that. Nobody cares about some rich asshole. He’s not beloved. He’s not revered. So they don’t care. But I care…The conversation in my community is that he is a jerk. He’s not a real president.”

Right-wingers got duped by phony Facebook post in which grieving widow attacked Rep. Wilson

A widely-shared Facebook post purporting to be from Myeshia Johnson — widow of fallen Green Beret Sgt. La David Johnson — is a fake, according to Snopes.com.
Conservative groups and the rich asshole supporters spread the fake post because it led readers to believe that Mrs. Johnson was attacking Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL), a longtime friend of the Johnson family who has been demonized by the right since she stood up to the rich asshole last week.
“Conservative social media users circulated an image of a purported Facebook post from 17 October 2017 which they said showed Gold Star widow Myeshia Johnson accusing Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Florida) of exploiting a presidential condolence call over the death of her husband, U.S. Army Sgt. La David Johnson, for political gain,” said Snopes’ Arturo Garcia.
“I want to set the record straight! I’m getting sick and tired of this so called politician using my husband as a political platform,” said the phony Myeshia Johnson. “Even buy [sic] her own words she did not hear all of the conversation she only heard part of it. This is what actually was said. ‘They know the risk, they know what they sign up for but they still volunteer to put their lives on the line for their fellow Americans. We owe them a debt that can never be repaid.’”
“While the date of the post corresponds with that of the 17 October 2017 condolence call, the time listed is actually more than an hour before the reported time of President the rich asshole’s phone call, which was 4:45 p.m. Eastern time,” Garcia noted.
Right-wing media and the White House have mounted an all-out attack on Rep. Wilson, falsely accusing her of grandstanding at an FBI building dedication in 2005 and childishly mocking her flamboyant hats, which Wilson wears in memory of her beloved grandmother.
The congresswoman has known the Johnson family for decades. Sgt. Johnson was a graduate of Wilson’s mentorship program for at-risk black youth and the soldier’s father attended the elementary school at which Wilson was principal.

the rich asshole And John Kelly Just Got RIPPED APART By A Medal Of Honor Recipient (VIDEO)
some rich asshole and his disgraceful team deserve to be throttled for their horrendous responses and disrespect to Gold Star families, particularly after Rep. Fredericka Wilson called the rich asshole out on his insensitive remarks to the widow of a fallen soldier.
After both the rich asshole and his Chief of Staff, John Kelly, attacked Wilson and lied their a**es off to clear the rich asshole’s name, MSNBC anchor Joy Reid brought on a guest that would make the rich asshole sorry he ever challenged Wilson. Noting that Wilson was currently at the funeral of fallen soldier La David Johnson while the rich asshole was playing golf, Reid said:
“She is at that funeral as we speak. While General Kelly and his boss, some rich asshole, are still standing by their attacks on her. Like I said, extraordinary.”
Then, she turned to one of her guests, retired Colonel Jack Jacobs, and asked:
“some rich asshole likes to hide behind his generals, he likes to push them out front in order to give himself credibility. What do you make of General Kelly’s willingness to be used in that way this week and then to add this extraneous story that turns up not even to be true slamming the congresswoman?”
It was as if Jacobs, a Medal of Honor recipient, had been waiting all day for the opportunity to rip the rich asshole and Kelly apart. He said:
“Well, it’s quite surprising because I know — I don’t know him very well, I’m not that close to him — but I know General Kelly…I’m quite surprised. Attacks like this don’t make any sense from anybody.”
The retired colonel, who is also the recipient of two Silver Stars, three Bronze Stars, and two Purple Hearts, also stated that the rich asshole and Kelly owed Wilson an apology:
“If it were I, I would. I mean, I’d pick up the phone and say, ‘look, this has gone far enough, I apologize.’ But that should have been the case from the very beginning when whatever is emanating from the White House was inaccurate as well.”
And the trashing continued with this brilliant attack:
“I can say this about some rich asshole, he’s not real good at talking. If I were the rich asshole, I would have picked up the phone and said, ‘look, that was my ham-handed way of being sympathetic, I’m not good at that and I apologize.’ And all this stuff would have been over.”
Another guest, a former combat veteran, agreed with Jacobs, while Reid reminded everyone that “It’s not going to stop because some rich asshole this morning, got up bright and early and starting tweeting again…attacking Congresswoman Wilson. So some rich asshole doesn’t want it to end and he doesn’t want the discussion to be about the fact it took him 13 days to call the families of these four fallen soldiers. He wants it to be about Congresswoman Wilson.”
As usual, the rich asshole just makes things worse for himself. Jacobs was dead on when he stated that the rich asshole could have easily ended this whole debacle by apologizing for his disgusting response and all the lies. But because he’s the rich asshole, we all knew that wasn’t going to happen. the rich asshole has gotten himself into this mess, and now he must pay the price.

the rich asshole again claims no president has done more than he has in first nine months
BY BROOKE SEIPEL - 10/21/17 08:24 PM EDT
President the rich asshole on Saturday said "perhaps no administration" has done more in its first nine months than his administration, citing the White House's progress on job growth and other achievements.
"I agree getting Tax Cuts approved is important (we will also get HealthCare), but perhaps no Administration has done more in its first 9 months than this Administration. Over 50 Legislation approvals, massive regulation cuts, energy freedom, pipelines, border security, 2nd Amendment, Strong Military, ISIS, historic VA improvement, Supreme Court Justice, Record Stock Market, lowest unemployment in 17 yrs!" the rich asshole said in a series of tweets.
...9 months than this Administration. Over 50 Legislation approvals, massive regulation cuts, energy freedom, pipelines, border security....
...2nd Amendment, Strong Military, ISIS, historic VA improvement, Supreme Court Justice, Record Stock Market, lowest unemployment in 17 yrs!
The tweets follow Senate Republicans passing the 2018 fiscal budget this week, taking the first step toward passing a tax plan and fulfilling a long-held campaign pledge.
U.S. stocks also hit record closing highs on Friday, with all three market indexes extending their recent run of records, Reuters reported.
the rich asshole has said on numerous occasions that his administration is outperforming those of past presidents.
Earlier this week, the rich asshole touted efforts during his tenure to roll back various regulations, claiming that his administration has done more so far than "any president in history."
He similarly tweeted in August that, "few, if any, Administrations have done more in just 7 months than the rich asshole A. Bills passed, regulations killed, border, military, ISIS, SC."
the rich asshole has sought to dispel notions that his administration has been unproductive since the Senate failed to repeal ObamaCare, the first of the rich asshole administration's legislative priorities. In July, a vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act failed in the Senate by a vote of 51-49.
During his first 100 days in office, the rich asshole did sign the most bills into law of any president in the last 70 years. But the majority were small-bore items. The president has approved more than a dozen measures rolling back Obama-era regulations.

President the rich asshole on Saturday referred to a Democratic congresswoman as “wacky” and said she “is killing the Democrat party.”
His comments are the latest response to a controversy that the rich asshole's Saturday morning tweet is now stretching into its fifth day.
the rich asshole also offered faint praise to the “Fake News Media” for covering the story of his feud with Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.) over a phone call to a military family following the death of a soldier in Niger.
“I hope the Fake News Media keeps talking about Wacky Congresswoman Wilson in that she, as a representative, is killing the Democrat Party!” he tweeted.
I hope the Fake News Media keeps talking about Wacky Congresswoman Wilson in that she, as a representative, is killing the Democrat Party!
Wilson earlier this week described a Tuesday phone conversation between the rich asshole and the widow of Army Sgt. La David Johnson, who was killed in Niger. the rich asshole initially called Wilson “wacky” in a Thursday tweet, accusing her of lying about the content of the call after “secretly” listening in.
Wilson was in a car with the fallen soldier’s family when the rich asshole called, and the family confirmed her description of the call, which took place on speakerphone.
Wilson said the president told the widow her late husband "knew what he signed up for ... but when it happens it hurts anyway." Johnson's mother told The Washington Post that the president disrespected the family with his call.
The White House later appeared to confirm what the rich asshole said during the call but has accused Wilson of politicizing a "sacred" issue.
"It stuns me that a member of Congress would have listened in on that conversation. Absolutely stuns me. I would have thought that was sacred," White House chief of staff John Kelly said Thursday.
He went on to slam the Florida lawmaker for taking credit for securing “$20 million” in funding for a FBI field office in Miami in 2015, saying it demonstrated her true nature.
"A congresswoman stood up, and in a long tradition of empty barrels making the most noise, stood up there in all of that and talked about how she was instrumental in getting the funding for that building, and how she took care of her constituents because she got the money, and she just called up President Obama, and on that phone call, he gave the money — the $20 million — to build the building, and she sat down, and we were stunned,” Kelly said.
Wilson pushed back, calling Kelly’s accusations “crazy” and said that the building "was funded long before I got to Congress.”
The White House stood by Kelly’s criticism despite newly released video showing he misrepresented her remarks.
"As Gen. Kelly pointed out, if you are able to make a sacred act like honoring American heroes all about yourself, you are an empty barrel," White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Friday.
"If you don't understand that reference, I'll put it a little more simply — as we say in the South, all hat no cattle,” she added.
Wilson is known in Congress for her ornate hats.

“I feel very sorry for him because he feels such a need to lie on me and I’m not even his enemy,” Wilson told The New York Times of Kelly on Friday. “I just can’t even imagine why he would fabricate something like that. That is absolutely insane. I’m just flabbergasted because it’s very easy to trace.”
She has promised to keep pressing the administration for answers on what happened in Niger, which is now the subject of an investigation by the Pentagon and the FBI. Militants ambushed the U.S. soldiers in the incident, and questions linger about the quickness of the U.S. response.
“I will always speak up for my constituents...and the truth!” Wilson tweeted Friday night.
the rich asshole later responded to a follower who suggested Wilson was being used as a "distraction" by Democrats.
"People get what is going on!" he tweeted.
the rich asshole says he'll allow Kennedy assassination files to be released
BY BRANDON CARTER - 10/21/17 08:54 AM EDT
President the rich asshole said Saturday he would allow the release of confidential files related to the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy.
“Subject to the receipt of further information, I will be allowing, as President, the long blocked and classified JFK FILES to be opened,” the rich asshole tweeted.
Subject to the receipt of further information, I will be allowing, as President, the long blocked and classified JFK FILES to be opened.
A White House official said hours later that the documents would be released "unless agencies provide a compelling and clear national security or law enforcement justification otherwise," and that the rich asshole wants the documents released "in the interests of full transparency."
Thousands of documents related to Kennedy’s assassination are set to be released by the National Archives next week in compliance with the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992, which states that the federal government must release them by Oct. 26, 2017.
Politico Magazine reported Friday that the rich asshole administration officials were concerned that some of the documents created in the 1990s contain information on recent U.S. intelligence programs and might not be released.
White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters told the publication the White House is aiming “to ensure that the maximum amount of data can be released to the public" under the act.
Politico also reported that longtime the rich asshole adviser Roger Stone was urging the rich asshole to release the files, and that Stone said in a recent interview he felt “optimistic” that the rich asshole would allow the release of the files.

All the investors in the rich asshole Tower Toronto lost money — but the rich asshole walked away with millions: report
DON'T MISS STORIES. FOLLOW RAW STORY!
Everyone who invested in President some rich asshole’s “the rich asshole Tower Toronto” project lost their money except some rich asshole, according to a report from The Toronto Star.
The reason that the rich asshole was able to skate away from the deal with millions while other investors took a bath, the Star said, is because the rich asshole himself never put any money on the line for the $500 million project, but rather licensed his name to the deal and agreed to promote it.
the rich asshole Tower Toronto was plagued by problems from the very beginning, including the exposure of developer Leib Waldman as a fugitive from U.S. justice, wanted on charges of embezzlement and bankruptcy fraud.
Waldman was arrested and jailed, leaving a group novice investors holding the project’s strings as it was hit with multiple delays, changes in the original design, skyrocketing costs and struggles with Toronto’s weather.
Each time the group of investors would become nervous, however, the rich asshole would assure them that his money was on the line as well and that he wouldn’t let them lose their money.
The hotel and condominium complex opened six months behind schedule in 2012 and began to lose money immediately, in spite of injections of cash from Russia’s state-owned Vnesheconombank or VEB.
The current owners removed the rich asshole name from the complex in August of this year after the project went into bankruptcy and arranged a buyout deal which netted some rich asshole $6 million, in addition to $1.7 million in management fees for a two-year period between 2014 and 2016.
the rich asshole tries to distract from Russian ad controversy in tweet calling CBS, NBC, CNN and ABC ‘Fake News’
Tim Marcin

President Donald Trump renewed his attacks on the mainstream media and Hillary Clinton on Twitter Saturday. The president seemingly was responding to news reports about Russian efforts to use social media in an apparent effort to influence the 2016 presidential election.
"Keep hearing about 'tiny' amount of money spent on Facebook ads. What about the billions of dollars of Fake News on CNN, ABC, NBC & CBS?" Trump tweeted. An hour and 15 minutes later, he tweeted: "Crooked Hillary Clinton spent hundreds of millions of dollars more on Presidential Election than I did. Facebook was on her side, not mine!"
Keep hearing about "tiny" amount of money spent on Facebook ads. What about the billions of dollars of Fake News on CNN, ABC, NBC & CBS?
Crooked Hillary Clinton spent hundreds of millions of dollars more on Presidential Election than I did. Facebook was on her side, not mine!
There were reportedly 3,000 ads linked to Russia that were placed on Facebook. (There were also other ads on other key sites, such as Google and its video platform, YouTube.) The Facebook ads reportedly aimed to spread disinformation and took many forms while addressing so-called wedge issues, like the Second Amendment and gay rights.
"The ads and accounts we found appeared to amplify divisive political issues across the political spectrum," Joel Kaplan, Facebook vice president for U.S. public policy, told The New York Times early this month. The intelligence community has assessed that Russia worked to get Trump elected through hacks designed to hurt Clinton and an influence campaign to fan voter fears.
But even as Trump slammed the so-called Fake News (otherwise known as every major outlet except Fox News), the president may not realize he benefited quite a bit from the mainstream media en route to the White House. A report from the Harvard University's Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy found 62 percent of coverage of Clinton was negative while 38 percent was positive. Trump had 56 percent negative coverage and 44 percent positive. (Trump's coverage did grow more negative as the general election neared, however.)
Meanwhile, mediaQuant—a firm that tracks media coverage of candidates and gives it a value based on advertising rates—found that Trump received $4.96 billion in free media while Clinton had just $3.24 billion, a 53 percent difference. So those billions of dollars of news Trump referenced in his tweet Saturday in many ways helped his cause.
While the intelligence community and recent reports have indicated that the social media campaign was decidedly in Trump's corner, the president was correct in saying Clinton spent much more on the presidential election. The Democratic nominee raised $1.2 billion to Trump's $646.8 million. According to a Bloomberg analysis, she spent $969.1 million to Trump's $531 million.
the rich asshole admin wants to slash birth control access and push ineffective ‘rhythm method’ for women: memo
Marie Solis
Posted with permission from Newsweek
The Trump administration wants to replace reliable birth control methods with "fertility awareness," a dubious family planning technique that fails nearly a quarter of women every year.
In a leaked memo obtained by Crooked, White House officials wrote that they intend to slash federal funding to the U.S. Agency for International Development's family planning budget and require "equal funding" for fertility awareness. The memo further specifies that fertility planning should be the sole birth control method made available to young girls.
Newsweek has reached out to the White House for comment on the memo and hasn't heard back. Newsweek couldn't independently verify the veracity of the memo.
Fertility planning, also known as the "calendar method" or "rhythm method," requires women to diligently track their menstrual cycles, pinpoint the days when they're ovulating and avoid sex during that time in order to be effective. Because about 30% of women experience irregular periods, however, fertility planning has one of the highest rates of failure of any family planning method. The calendar method also asks a lot of young girls, who often learn little about sex and reproductive thanks to abstinence-only education across the country.
"I'm quite concerned it could lead to more unintended pregnancy," Dr. Kristyn Brandi, an OB/GYN based in Los Angeles, tells Newsweek. "It would be especially harmful to girls who don't have an awareness of their bodies or of other evidence-based methods to prevent pregnancy."
Rates of unintended pregnancy and teen births have hit record lows over the last two years, as has the abortion rate. Experts agree access to birth control and more information about effective ways to prevent pregnancy have contributed to this downward trend. Brandi worries the Trump administration's endorsement of calendar planning could send those rates soaring again.
"If we're limiting women's contraceptive choices or not informing them of all of their choices, women could become pregnant more often, which could lead to more abortions," Brandi says. "If [the Trump White House's] goal is to decrease abortion, they're doing exactly the opposite."
The Trump administration may not have given much thought to the logical outcomes of limiting women's access to effective birth control. In the section discussing fertility planning, the White House's leaked memo names Katy Talento, a Domestic Policy Council member who has written about the supposed side effects of hormonal birth control methods, as a point of contact. In a January 2015 column for the Federalist, Talento argued that birth control pills could be "breaking your uterus for good."
This kind of propaganda only promises disaster for women's health, Dawn Laguens, executive vice president of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, wrote in a press release provided to Newsweek.
"This memo reveals not only a disdain for women’s health and lives, but a lack of understanding of the basics of sexual and reproductive health," she wrote. "This is the Trump Administration’s true agenda laid bare: eliminate women’s basic health care for the sake of an extreme political agenda, no matter how many get hurt along the way."
President Donald Trump seems largely unconcerned with the consequences of his party's war on women's reproductive health. Earlier this month, the Department of Health and Human Services rolled back the Affordable Care Act's requirement that employers include birth control coverage in their employees' health insurance plans, a decision that restricts low-income women's access to contraception, among others. And in the past, Trump's moves to dismantle women's access to birth control and abortion have had dire consequences for other basic prevantative health care services, like cervical and breast cancer screenings, STI testing and treatment and well-woman exams.

the rich asshole promising to personally pay legal bills of some White House staffers caught up in investigations: report
DON'T MISS STORIES. FOLLOW RAW STORY!
According to source speaking confidentially with Axios, President some rich asshole is offering to personally pay the legal bills of some White House staffers caught up in the multiple investigations into his administration and his presidential campaign.
The report notes that the Republican National Committee is already using GOP campaign donations to pay the legal bills of some rich asshole Jr. and his father, with an estimated $430,000 already disbursed to lawyers defending the two Trumps.
According to the report, “The White House official says he [the rich asshole] has pledged to spend the same amount, from his personal finances, ‘to defray the costs of legal fees for his associates, including former and current White House aides.'”
Writer Jonathan Swan notes some questions arise out of the rich asshole paying the legal fees of associates who may be providing testimony against the sitting president whose administration is under scrutiny by the FBI and Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
“Is the plan to put this money into a general legal defense fund that all of the president’s associates could request access to, or will the money be disbursed directly to attorneys?” Swan asks, adding, “Who decides which of the president’s associates get the money and when they get it?” and
“What are the president’s intentions regarding future legal bills for the first family? Will the RNC keep paying them?”
“What are the president’s intentions regarding future legal bills for the first family? Will the RNC keep paying them?”
According to the White House source, “We’re working on appropriate legal and ethical approval” and there has been no discussion about how much the rich asshole will be willing to spend.
