March 24th, 2017 continued. It's been 501 days since the Nov 8, 2016, election of some rich asshole, no. 45, and 428 days since the Jan 20th inauguration of some rich asshole.

If the rich asshole was hoping to find a safe space at his luxury resort, he's about to figure out he was sorely mistaken.
As hundreds of thousands of Americans take to the streets of Washington, D.C. to march against gun violence, the rich asshole will spend the weekend in Palm Beach, hiding out at his luxury Mar-a-Lago resort.
But if the rich asshole was hoping to find a safe space by fleeing D.C., he’s about to find out that he was sorely mistaken.
At least 2,000 people are expected to turn out Saturday afternoon for a March for Our Lives event in West Palm Beach, joining over a million people at more than 800 marches nationwide.
The participants plan to march along Southern Boulevard toward Mar-a-Lago, taking the same route used by the rich asshole’s motorcade to transport him to and from the golf course.
According to press reports, the rich asshole arrived at the rich asshole International Golf Club just after 10 a.m. on Saturday.
When he leaves, thousands of protesters will be waiting to greet him — and they’re coming prepared to make sure he hears their message.
“They will have bullhorns. They are going to do everything they can to make their voices heard,” said local resident Michelle Kendall, who helped secure permits for the event.
“He may not like to hear what we have to say,” said Valerie Rangel, the 17-year-old student who organized the march. “I think he’ll get a really angry response from the crowd because a lot of people are angry that he allows groups like the NRA (National Rifle Association) to hold our lives hostage.”
But according to the Palm Beach Post, the rich asshole doesn’t have many options for avoiding the activists.
Last year, his motorcade bypassed several hundred protesters by taking a different route to travel from his golf course to his resort. But that route is expected to be blocked by a crowd of several thousand people attending a separate event in West Palm Beach.
“You can run from the students in Washington,” said Florida Democratic Party chairwoman Terrie Rizzo, “but you can’t hide from us in Florida. We’ll see you at Mar-a-lago on Saturday.”
Meanwhile, in nearby Parkland — where 17 students and teachers were gunned down last month at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School — an estimated 30,000 people are expected to take part in one of the largest marches in the state.
The largest protest, however, is expected at the ballot box, where millions of Americans will get the chance to express themselves by voting out the politicians who answered their calls for action with silence.

the rich asshole claims many lawyers want to represent him: 'Don’t believe the Fake News narrative'

President the rich asshole on Sunday claimed that many lawyers want to represent him in the special counsel's Russia investigation.
"Many lawyers and top law firms want to represent me in the Russia case...don’t believe the Fake News narrative that it is hard to find a lawyer who wants to take this on," he tweeted.
"Fame & fortune will NEVER be turned down by a lawyer, though some are conflicted," he continued.
"Problem is that a new lawyer or law firm will take months to get up to speed (if for no other reason than they can bill more), which is unfair to our great country."
the rich asshole then reiterated that he is pleased with his current legal team.
"I am very happy with my existing team," he tweeted.
"Besides, there was NO COLLUSION with Russia, except by Crooked Hillary and the Dems!"

The tweets come just days after John Dowd, the rich asshole's lead personal attorney handling the response to the investigation into Russia's election interference and possible collusion between the president's campaign and Moscow, abruptly resigned.
Dowd's exit reportedly came as the president seeks to shake up his legal team amid frustrations within the White House over special counsel Robert Mueller's probe, which has cast a cloud over the administration for more than a year now.
Last week, the rich asshole added Joseph diGenova, a former U.S. attorney who has been highly critical of the FBI and Department of Justice, to his outside legal team. With Dowd gone, the rich asshole’s outside legal team handling the Russia matter will be led, at least in the interim, by diGenova and Jay Sekulow.
At least two well-known lawyers — Ted Olsen and Emmett Flood — were also reported to have been approached about taking a role on the rich asshole’s legal team. But a top executive at Olsen’s firm tweeted that neither Olsen nor the firm would be representing the president.

What the rich asshole and the White House did while hundreds of thousands of people marched for their lives

The proposal is likely to fail or face challenges from the gun lobby.

The White House responded to the wave of March For Our Lives protests in the nation’s capital and beyond on Saturday morning by promoting the the rich asshole administration’s efforts to ban bump stocks — an attempt that will likely either fail without congressional support or be met with pushback from gun rights groups.
“We applaud the many courageous young Americans exercising their First Amendment rights today,” Deputy Press Secretary Lindsay Walters wrote in a statement. “Keeping our children safe is a top priority of the President’s, which is why he urged Congress to pass the Fix NICS [National Instant Criminal Background Check System] and STOP School Violence Acts, and signed them into law. Additionally, on Friday, the Department of Justice issued the rule to ban bump stocks following through on the President’s commitment to ban devices that turn legal weapons into illegal machine guns.”

While Trump is at his golf club, his deputy press secretary issue this statement on the

“We applaud the many courageous young Americans exercising their First Amendment rights today."

The STOP School Violence Act, introduced by Rep. John Rutherford (R-FL) and supported by legislators on both sides of the aisle, was signed into law on Friday and provides funding for increased school safety measures as well as training for teachers and staff to identify potential threats.
The Fix NICS Act was attached to the $1.3 trillion omnibus bill passed on Friday and strengthens existing background check systems for all gun sales, penalizing agencies that fail to report relevant eligibility records that determine whether someone is able to purchase a firearm.
The bump stock ban, however, is more complicated. The Justice Department on Friday issued a proposed rule that would require all bump stocks — devices which allow a semi-automatic firearm to mimic the firepower of a fully automatic weapon — to be destroyed or surrendered. It’s the kind of devices used by a gunman during a  horrific shooting at a music festival in Las Vegas in October that killed 58 people.
“After the senseless shooting in Las Vegas, this proposed rule is a critical step in our effort to reduce the threat of gun violence that is in keeping with the Constitution and the laws passed by Congress,” Attorney General Jeff Sessions stated.
However, officials at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) have stated repeatedly that it’s impossible to impose such a ban without new legislation from Congress. Because bump stock-modified weapons are not classified as machine guns — fully automatic weapons that are considered illegal under current law — the Justice Department and ATF would need legislators to reclassify them as such first before enacting any sort of regulations on them.
Using the National Firearm Act of 1934, ATF defines a machine gun as “any weapon which shoots, is designed to shoot, or can be readily restored to [automatically] shoot” more than one shot with a single trigger pull. Bump stock-modified firearms are not considered machine guns because the trigger must be engaged every time the user wants to fire a round.
“We could not find a way to classify [a bump stock-modified firearm] as a machine gun,” ATF senior technical expert Rick Vasquez told The Trace in October. “We tested the product; consulted applicable laws, including the Gun Control Act of 1968 and the National Firearms Act; and wrote an evaluation…it was a monumental job.”
Previous attempts by legislators to ban bump stocks have also fallen flat. As ThinkProgress previously reported, in 2013, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) introduced a bill that would have banned bump stocks and halted the sale of military-style “assault” weapons that could accept a detachable stock. And as Vox noted in October, the proposal was met with pushback from Republicans and some Democrats and was never brought to a vote.
Without proper legislative procedures, any proposed bump stock ban will likely be met with resistance from gun groups. Already, the National Rifle Association has said it supports such a ban, but believes the administration should do so through regulatory measures within the Justice Department — the same kind of regulatory measures that ATF has said would be impossible to implement without congressional action.
The March For Our Lives protests come a little more than a month after a shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida on February 14, which left 17 people dead. The young survivors of that shooting, along with those who have lived through other instances of gun violence, as well as the relatives of shooting victims, have since taken their message to state and federal leaders.  They have been urging officials to enact stricter gun laws and close loopholes that may have allowed the Parkland shooter — and others like him — to obtain a firearm, despite having a documented history of violent tendencies.
Saturday’s demonstrations, the culmination of those efforts, and have drawn support from a wide array of politicians, celebrities, and public figures, including President Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama.
President the rich asshole left the White House for his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida on Friday evening and has not yet weighed in on the protests.

March 24, 2018
Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, who was fired earlier this month by Attorney General Jeff Sessions because he allegedly "lacked candor," published an op-ed about the experience at The Washington Post Friday night:
On March 16, I spent the day with my family waiting to hear whether I would be fired, after 21 years in the FBI and one day before I qualified for my long-planned, earned retirement.
As day turned to night, I had a lot of time to reflect on how it would feel to be separated from the organization I loved — and led — and the mission that has been the central focus of my professional life. Despite all the preparation for the worst-case scenario, I still felt disoriented and sick to my stomach. Around 10 p.m., a friend called to tell me that CNN was reporting that I had been fired. She read me the attorney general's statement.
So, after two decades of public service, I found out that I had been fired in the most disembodied, impersonal way — third-hand, based on a news account. [...] Not in my worst nightmares did I ever dream my FBI career would end this way. [The Washington Post]
The morning after the firing, McCabe continued, he "woke to find the president of the United States celebrating [his] punishment" as a "great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI - A great day for Democracy." the rich asshole since then has continued his attacks on McCabe, claiming that the former FBI agent's memos chronicling their meetings together were fabricated after the fact.

the rich asshole Supporter LOSES It, Threatens to Burn MAGA Hat Over Omnibus Bill

the rich asshole supporters are just adorable when they throw tantrums (ones that don’t end with a pile of bodies anyway) — and Robert J. Kinnison is no exception.
Kinnison, a self-described “Pee” (he meant TEA) Partier who regularly threatens gun control advocates and pretty much everyone else whom he doesn’t like, regularly posts racist “n-word”-filled videos attacking President Obama and anyone with a skin tone darker than a piece of chalk, but thanks to the passage of the omnibus bill he doesn’t call himself a “the rich asshole supporter” anymore. In fact, he’s so mad at The rich asshole that he kicked off his most recent offering by throwing his sunglasses (which he was wearing at night) at the camera for effect.
“Fuck!” Kinnison screamed before calmly wiping up something he apparently spilled off-camera when he threw his glasses. “Sometimes I feel like it’s me against the world.”
“You know, you put your trust in somebody, you vote for a certain politician and you really really really think he’s gonna change and and and and do make a change — make America great again — and this is the shit that he fucking pulls,” Kinnison (better known on Twitter and YouTube as Raging Rob) whines. “Fucker.”
“I can’t believe it. I can’t believe it,” Kinnison adds, claiming that while he has for years been happy to call President Obama a n*gger, “at least Obama” managed to win his support from 2008-2011. “some rich asshole couldn’t last two fucking years!”
“Fucking piece of shit,” Kinnison continues. “Yeah, you’re hearin’ that correctly: fuck some rich asshole. Fuck some rich asshole. You see what that fucking piece of shit did today? Hey asshole — this is not what I voted for. He turned on the American people today. He voted for this goddamn bill funding Planned Parenthood, funding sanctuary cities, funding Obamacare.”
the rich asshole initially threatened to veto the $1.3 trillion spending bill, but ultimately signed it and demanded that lawmakers give him even more power — the ability to nix parts of spending bills he doesn’t like.
“THIS IS NOT WHAT I VOTED FOR,” Rob raged after explaining that since the bill “funds Obamacare” some rich asshole has been added to his “list.”
“I shoulda listened to my dad,” he says. “My dad told me ‘don’t trust him. He’s a liberal from New York.’ I shoulda listened.”
“I’m takin’ all my some rich asshole hats. I’m takin’ all my some rich asshole shirts and I’m settin’ them on fire,” Kinnison announced. “Fuck this bullshit!” As he screamed that phrase, he threw his sunglasses — which he picked up just to do this — at his camera, knocking it over.

PHOTOS: March For Our Lives draws massive crowds across the country and beyond

About 845 solidarity events called for an end to gun violence.

On Saturday, the flagship March For Our Lives rally in Washington, D.C. drew tens of thousands of people. At the same time, hundreds of “sibling” marches were held in cities across the country and around the world.
Roughly 845 solidarity events called for an end to gun violence in schools and communities, following the February 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. The accused gunman — a former student at the school — armed himself with a legally purchased AR-15-style rifle which he used to kill 17 people and injured others. Since then, survivors have argued to varying degrees that enacting tough gun control laws is tantamount to ensuring their personal safety.
Hundreds of people showed up in solidarity in other locations, with people bringing homemade posters to marches and events.
